More than the first half of this year is over, I can't quite believe it. On the one hand time seems to have gone very fast ... on the other hand a lot has happened to make it a full few months since I last wrote. There have been two major trips, almost 5 weeks in the U.S. in April and just recently 2.5 weeks in Nepal. I am so grateful that I get to travel and see new and old places and meet great friends from long ago again. That was the case in the U.S. where we had a solar eclipse family gathering in Cleveland (with my host family from a student exchange more than 50 years ago!!!), went on a lovely 2-week roadtrip with my sister and her husband from France and continued on for another 3 weeks and got to meet friends from college towards the end of the trip. (... you can see pics and reels of both trips on my IG account!) And it was also the case in Kathmandu, where I hadn't been in almost six years (I used to go much more frequently when I still had the gallery and was trying to promote contemporary art from Nepal - my "young artists" are all now in their 50s, that was quite shocking, haha!). It was so good to see my artist friends, three very dear women friends, and my Nepali "family" (I have supported a young family for many years, first by building a Montessori preschool together, later by helping them move to Canada), who was back for a wedding. And now it's a month at home, trying to get my bearings, but mostly to enjoy Dutch summer which has finally come - before heading off for our annual September roadtrip which will take us via Bretagne to Toulouse again to be with my sister ... and then leisurely back up North via Southern France and Switzerland.
So much to look forward to ... and so much to be grateful for. Meanwhile I continue to practise (and teach) Kundalini yoga which is my one big grounding element when I feel myself floating in this strange pensioner's life again and again ... Comments are closed.
