I am a very late bloomer when it comes to teaching!
For the longest time I had not wanted to stand in front of a class. I got all stressed about sharing my oh-so-limited knowledge and much preferred to DO yoga instead of GIVE yoga. (Read more about my 40-year history with yoga in this blogpost!)
So what's my collection of trainings?
2004-2006 Almost 20 years ago I started my first yoga teachers' training - two years at Yoga Vidya in their two ashrams in Germany to become a Sivananda Hatha Yoga teacher. . . . 2015-2017 Then I fell in love with Yin Yoga and did Yin 1 Teacher Training of 100 hours in 2015 and Yin 2 Teacher Training of 170 hours in 2017 with StillnessInYoga in Doorn. As of September 2015 I did weekly personal training (weight lifting, EMS training, whole body workouts) at JonenSports in Duesseldorf and since January 2016 also all-womens kickbox fitnessat PunchWomensHealth Club in Almere. These two latter activities to get strong entering my 7th decade. With the leg fracture in 2021 that all stopped for a while, but in the fall of 2023 I started with crossfit for seniors two to three times a week here in Almere.
But back to yoga: so as 60plus-woman I finally felt ready for Kundalini (so funny to remember how I disliked it during the teacher trainings ... I just wasn't fit enough then!)
2020-2021 In February 2020 I started my last (?) training to become a Kundalini Yoga teacher, graduating in the spring of 2021 ... AND I LOVE IT!
2024 now sees me doing ChairYoga50plus training with Willem Wittstam.
And just to complete the collection ...
I also did a training in Sampoorna Yoga in 2008.
And trained as a yoga fitness trainer in November 2006.
And did a week of Sanskrit in August 2008..
And trained as a yoga personal trainer in October 2017.
And became Odaka Yoga teacher in October 2021
And Kundalini Chair Yoga teacher training in February 2022
