What is "encouraging training"?

Picture
THE MEANING OF "ENCOURAGING"

„Encouraging“ means actively enhancing courage in yourself and others. Whether as children or adults, we can only give our best and realize our full potential if and when we believe in ourselves, if we feel confident and feel  a sense of belonging. This is exactly what encouragement brings forth.

THE FOUNDER(S) OF ENCOURAGING

Alfred Adler, founder of individual psychology (“individual” in the Latin sense of “indivisible whole”), was convinced that discouragement was the cause of psychological and social dysfunctions while encouragement, on the other hand, makes possible further development of
the individual and its successful integration into the social context.

Based on the Adlerian psychology, Theo Schoenaker, renowned author of “Encouraging makes good things happen” , director emeritus of Adler Dreikurs Institute in Germany and presently director of Schoenaker-Academy in Holland, created his  Encouraging-Training Schoenaker-Konzept®.  Schoenaker is convinced that being proficient in actively encouraging oneself and others will greatly enhance the quality of life in every person.

TRAIN NEW THINKING & NEW WAYS OF DOING THINGS

All encouraging trainings focus on a new way of thinking: instead of looking at mistakes and failures, you learn to look at progress and strengths. Training means practice. In the 10-week-course you receive new information but mostly you practice new thinking and new ways of doing things. The training tasks will effect changes in your inner attitude and in your actions – in small, simple steps. You practice in everyday situations, without having to commit extra time. During the sharing in the group you will come up with new ideas or deepen and substantiate what you have learnt. You will strengthen your sense of self-worth, discover new aspects of your personality, and you will improve relations with your important others! to edit.
